For us, Primary School is about more than just academics, it is about keeping children curious and happy while they learn. We offer a safe, friendly environment where students from Grade 1 to Grade 5 build the skills they need for life.
Our goal is simple: we want our students to love coming to school. We combine the trusted McGraw Hill (MHE) curriculum with a caring approach that supports every child’s personality. CORE ACADEMICS
ENGLISH
Becoming confident readers and writers. We want our students to fall in love with reading. Using our McGraw Hill resources, we balance strong phonics lessons with creative writing and storytelling. We focus heavily on speaking and listening skills so that every student feels confident standing up and sharing their ideas with the class.
MATHEMATICS
Math that makes sense. We don’t just memorize answers; we learn how numbers work. Our math lessons are very hands-on. Students use blocks, counters, and digital tools to solve puzzles and understand the "why" behind the math. Our goal is to take away the fear of math and turn our students into logical problem solvers.
SCIENCE
Learning by doing. Science at Oak Meadow is active. We believe the best way to learn science is to be a scientist. Students get involved through hands-on activities, interactive lessons, and engaging songs – key topics about life, earth, physical and STEM Education. We encourage them to ask "Why?" and "How?" about the world around them.
SOCIAL STUDIES
Understanding our world. We teach students to look beyond their own bubble. In Social Studies, we learn about different countries, maps, history, and communities. We want our children to grow up as kind, global citizens who understand and respect people from different backgrounds.
WORLD LANGUAGES
THAI LANGUAGE
Connecting with our home. As an international school in Phuket, we are proud of our location. All students attend Thai classes suited to their level (native or non-native). Beyond just language, we celebrate Thai festivals and learn about local traditions, helping our students respect and understand the beautiful culture we live in.
CHINESE LANGUAGE
Learning Chinese at Oak Meadow is an interactive and joyful experience. Through songs, games, and role-play, students focus on building conversational confidence and practical vocabulary. We also explore Chinese traditions and festivals, helping students connect the language to its rich culture.
RUSSIAN LANGUAGE
We are proud to support our Russian-speaking students in maintaining and developing their mother tongue. Our lessons focus on grammar, reading, and literature to ensure students stay deeply connected to their heritage. This approach helps them express complex ideas clearly and confidently in their native language while studying in an international setting.
SPECIALIST SUBJECTS
PHYSICAL EDUCATION (PE)
We want our students moving and healthy. Our PE lessons are designed for everyone, regardless of athletic ability. We focus on teamwork, fair play, and having fun through movement. It’s not just about winning; it’s about learning to work together.
ARTS
Students get their hands dirty! From finger painting in the early grades to mixed-media projects in Grade 5, we encourage children to experiment with color, texture, and design. We teach them that there are no "mistakes" in art, only new ideas.
MUSIC
Our music classes are full of energy. Students learn to find their rhythm, sing together, and appreciate different styles of music from around the world. It’s about listening, participating, and finding joy in sound.
DRAMA

Technology is a tool we use every day, but we want our students to do more than just stare at screens. We want them to understand how technology works and how to use it safely.
SWIMMING
Living in Phuket, we treat swimming as an essential life skill, placing a huge emphasis on water safety and confidence. Whether your child is a beginner or a strong swimmer, our instructors meet them at their level to refine technique and build stamina. Above all, we ensure our lessons are a fun way for students to stay healthy and enjoy the water.
