The Oak Meadow Kindergarten Experience
At Oak Meadow International School, we offer a structured yet nurturing early childhood program for children from Nursery through Kindergarten 3. Designed for both local and international families, our holistic, research-based approach provides children with a confident, joyful, and globally relevant start to their educational journey.
OUR ACADEMIC POLICY
Our curriculum is carefully sequenced to support children as they grow academically, socially, and emotionally, while ensuring smooth transitions within international education systems.
Nursery to KG2 – The Creative Curriculum
We use The Creative Curriculum, a globally recognized, play-centered framework that encourages inquiry, exploration, and discovery. Through hands-on learning, children develop strong social-emotional skills and self-regulation, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and curiosity and confidence in exploring the world around them.
Kindergarten 3 – McGraw Hill (CCSS Aligned)
In KG3, students transition to the McGraw Hill curriculum aligned with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). This provides a strong academic foundation that supports entry into international Primary programs, with a focus on early literacy and English language development, foundational mathematics skills, and structured learning routines that prepare students for Primary school.
Kindergarten 3 – Scientific Exploration (NGSS)
We integrate the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) to foster curiosity, observation, and collaborative problem-solving through hands-on scientific inquiry—skills essential for global learners.
A Focus on Holistic Development
At Oak Meadow, we believe children learn best through meaningful experiences and guided exploration. Our Kindergarten program emphasizes learning through play, where purposeful, hands-on activities nurture communication, creativity, early mathematics, and cognitive development.
Social-emotional growth is supported through daily routines that help children build resilience, cooperation, confidence, and the Adversity Quotient (AQ) needed to succeed in diverse cultural and educational environments.
Physical wellness is an essential part of our program. Swimming and Physical Education support coordination, physical confidence, and overall well-being.
A Strong Foundation for the Future
By balancing teacher-guided instruction with child-led inquiry, Oak Meadow prepares students for a smooth transition into international Primary school programs. Our graduates leave with independence, adaptability, and a lifelong love of learning—ready to thrive anywhere in the world.
